cPanel has announced a new licensing and pricing structure. All current cPanel Reseller Hosting subscription will have a limitation on cPanel accounts and price change. This licensing structure change goes into effect on 1st October 2019.

Options for the cPanel price increase?

A. Delete inactive cPanel accounts in your reseller hosting to fit quota provided ( its time for you to do some housekeeping!)
B. Purchase another block of cPanel
c. Migrate all to DirectAdmin

A. MIGRATE ALL TO DIRECT ADMIN

What you need to know about DirectAdmin.

1. INODE LIMIT

Just to confirm that our new DirectAdmin package will still remain like an existing package where we are able to create unlimited hosting account users/inodes. right?
>> Yes, you are correct. We still imposed a soft-limit of 250K of inodes.

3. WEBMAIL FEATURE

Worry not! Squirrelmail and Roundcube are available on Directadmin server

4. CMS CONTENT WEBSITE (Softaculous in DA)

If the client wants to create a CMS content website, how do they do it in the DirectAdmin?
>> Installatron or Softaculous will be available on the Directadmin server for one-click installation of CMS such as WordPress or Joomla.

5. DOMAIN POINTING

For those domains that are not bought from ServerFreak, you are required to update nameserver.

If you are using custom nameservers, such as ns1.mikids.com.my & ns2.mikids.com.my you can just update custom nameservers IP

Possible Issues that may occur after the migration to DirectAdmin:

1. Duplicate emails for POP3 users while DNS is propagating
2. Missing website data/SQL tables data due to DNS propagation – To avoid this, make sure that e-commerce website is being put into maintenance mode to avoid loss of data prior to the migration
3. Users that are using server hostname as the email server in email client’s settings will need to re-update their email client’s settings with ‘mail.domain.com’ *domain.com is to be replaced with the actual domain
4. Possibilities of missing emails while DNS is propagating, however, we can resync the emails from the old server if required
5. Email accounts for ‘parked domains’ a.k.a domain ‘aliases’ will not be migrated. You need to inform us if any later as it will need to be remigrated
6. Domain forwarders/autoresponders will need to be reconfigured


B. Delete inactive cPanel accounts in your reseller hosting to fit the quota provided.

If you to remain using cPanels, you can purchase another block of cPanel

Each block is 10 cPanel and cost RM15.00 per 10account/ monthly that’s means RM180/yearly!
